Finding a safe church home can be especially important for people seeking to honor the full humanity of women and men. Many churches have an underlying patriarchy that is uncomfortable, if not triggering and harmful, for people who have been in a complementarian setting.
A truly egalitarian church embraces women in all areas of leadership and participation. Period.
As with any attempt to put together a list of egalitarian churches there are several things I can't control in listing them here:
-- When churches close or web pages go out of date.
-- When new churches open.
-- When there are other significant problems with the congregation
or leadership.
-- Whether or not the leadership is actually egalitarian or mentally egalitarian
(if you've experienced it, you know what I mean)
